How does the class work?
1. Register and get your login.
2. Begin the course - study when it's convenient for you.
3. You have access for an unlimited time.
4. At the end of the course you will receive your Proof of Completion.

How long does it take to receive my Proof of Completion?
Requests for Proof of completions should be done 2 business days before the date needed. For example: If you need your proof of completion on Saturday, you need to fax in the required documentation no later than Wednesday to ensure that you get your proof of completion on Friday.

Please note you WILL continue to have access to the online class even after you submit your documentation and receive your proof of completion. You have unlimited access for as long as you need it; even after you become a commissioned Notary Public.

Important: If you make your request too late and we are unable to issue your proof of completion before your exam date, please note that the Secretary of State will still allow you to take your exam. You will simply have to mail your proof of completion to their office.

Can I go in and out of the class?
Yes, you have unlimited time to access the course.

What happens if I don't pass the State exam?
We will allow you to re-take the course free of charge if you fail the notary public exam after completing our course. All you have to do is notify us at onlinenotaryclass@sbcglobal.net with your name, date of exam and test percentage.

The best way to ensure that you pass the State exam is to take the exam while the information is still fresh in your mind. We encourage students to register for the exam as soon as they register for the course. The test dates fill up very quickly. Often times, students complete the course and can't test for a month or two because the test locations are full. Visit the website for the test schedule. Go to: http://www.cps.ca.gov/TakeATest/Notary/ and click on "test schedule" on the left-hand side of the page. This will give you a list of exam dates and you can register for the exam now to ensure that you will have a space once you complete the course.

How soon can I begin notarizing documents?
You can begin notarizing documents when you receive your commission, which takes about 3 to 6 weeks after the exam, file a bond and oath of office with the county clerk within 30 days of the effective date of your commission, and purchase your notary supplies.

How much money can I make as a loan signing agent?
Loan Signing Agents make anywhere from $45.00 to $250.00 and up - per signing. Being a notary public does not automatically make you a Loan Signing Agent.

What are the requirements to become a notary?
You must be at least 18 years of age, be a legal resident of the State of California, take a notary class approved by the State, pass the state exam, and pass a background check.

How long is the State exam?
The exam is 50 minutes with 30 multiple-choice questions. Passing is 70% or higher.
